Hi.
I just wanted to share with you that I've got a new love in my life. No, still in love with my wife , I'm talking kite .

The X-Masque RAGE from L'Atelier showed up last night, just in time for a quick spinn on the beach. The wind was real choppy, ranging from 5 - 20 mph with seconds, the fog came rolling in from the ocean, it was cold damp and then the rain started, or was it the fog being so thick it started to form drops?
Well gloomy weather, and I was laughing and cheering my head of. People having their afternoon walks on the beach looked scared at me like I was a mad or something, then they hurried into the fog and were gone.
The reason for my uncontrolled joy was the X-Masque Rage, it is the best kite I've ever flown! All the stuff I like to do; the fade launch, axels, backspinn, cascades, flick flacks, JL's, lazy susans etc was so easy, but most important they were FUN in a new way. And if you like it to fly in a straight line and cut sharp corners, well it does that too!
The Rage rotates on its back (and belly for that sake) in such a floaty way. It was not loosing much height when doing "rotation" tricks like ie the JL, it was much more stationary then I'm used to (with the Nirvana, QP, Frenezy...). Its hard to describe but this "floatyness" was what made it so spesial. And you know what? I was having blasphemic thoughts!

Scenes from the "amsterdam trick-clinic" kept popping in and out of my head, and I was thinking "Its not the pilot, its the kite, its not the pilot its the kite...." I know, Mathieu Mayet could make a piece of plywood fly great, but this kite does hand it to you on a silver plate!

NB: My flying "style" is with fast hand input, and I disslike a kite where the energy in the input goes into bending and twitching the kite. I just love the 0 respons time kind of kites! This does not mean that the Rage HAS to be flown that way, but it has no problems with it.
