Its a great kite. Awesome precision, awesome tricking ability, awesome looking, and all around an excellent kite. I choose to fly this kite because for me, its simply the best for what im trying to accomplish. Smooth tricks, razor edge flying. I did not actually get to use my xt.s in the comps, except once for my imposed tricks which went very well, perhaps my best set. I did however fly a vented xt.s, and it to is great, for a vented. Im glad you ordered one. But be aware people, the Transfer is not at all like the nirvana, unless you reallyyyy modify it. If your super good with a nirvana, it will take some time to get used to a Transfer. The Transfer is a very special kite, and not everyone can fly it, and for those who can, not everyone can fly it like they want to. The Transfer is a simply wonderful and close to perfectly made kite. Ramlal and Mathieu and all the people at L'Atelier put so much work into these kites, taking advise from everywhere, and making many many prototypes, that seem to never end until after Ramlal's prefectionism is satisfied. You simply cannot go wrong with an Atelier product IMO. If you really like the nirvana, it takes an aquired (over time) taste, to like the Transfer, so be aware. While i highly recommend it, and will let anyone try my kites, remember that no one can fly every kite exactly like they want to, you have to find one, and make it your own. Dont just buy some kite that you just have some subconscious attraction to. If you find a kite you like a lot of qualities in great stick with it, In Example: you find many plasures in, i dont know, the STX 2.3, Great! Stick with it, fly it, get great with it, and dont worry about nirvana replicas, and New cool looking Transfers. Stick with what you know first and foremost and all ways, then, when you hit that plateau (you'll know it), its time for a new kite. To reiterate, i love my xt.s. It does everything, and does it well. BUT, it takes time to develop your techniques for this and any kite, so dont move too fast pick a kite that has a lot of qualities you like, and make it work for you, by modification, of whatever. Whatever kite you choose in the end, make it your own; make it you. Then you can make it, with practice, do whatever you want it to do. -Alex |
